About Ellen

Ellen Mossman has been practicing bodywork in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1985. Early in her career she had the great fortune of working with a respected neurosurgeon. This sparked her ongoing interest in orthopedic and complex conditions, chronic pain, and trauma recovery. While the primary modality Ellen offers is craniosacral therapy, her range of experience includes bodywork for orthopedic conditions, Lomi somatic work, lymphatic and visceral massage, trauma recovery, Aikido-based energy awareness, yoga, and other movement arts.

She is a certified practitioner and graduate of the Milne Institute's Visionary Craniosacral program, and a Certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. She has studied with Scott Zamarut, Benjamin Shield, the Upledger Institute, and others. Ellen is a graduate of the Berkeley Yoga Room's 500-hour Advanced Studies Program.

Ellen offers workshops in the Bay Area, Portland, and for Turtleback Craniosacral in New York. She taught at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland for 5 years, presenting both biomechanical and biodynamic approaches, and anatomy for their 125-hour craniosacral training. She is currently on the tutor team with Body Intelligence for their San Francisco training. Ellen brings inquiry, warmth, and humor to her classes.
